Prince of Persia: The forgotten Sands

Now when I get my hands on this game, I must say I liked the first Prince of Persia, even if it did lack of HD resolution at the time, so hopefully this is going to be competing for the top games released this year. In order to get Prince of Persia: The forgotten Sands works out of the box with Logitech Rumblepad 2 and Dual Action game pads...

In order to have the pads work like the xbox 360 pad, just copy the x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0 files :

x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll

into dir :

\Program Files\Ubisoft\Prince of Persia The Forgotten Sands\

And it should all work great, I'll now be enjoying this hopefully wondefull story.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior

In order to get Sniper: Ghost Warrior to work with the logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action game pads, you'll need to get a copy of x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0, and put the following files :

x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe

Into the installed Directory :

\Program Files\City Interactive\Sniper Ghost Warrior\

You'll need to create a profile, and in "Options" -> "Controls" you need to set the Xbox 360 Controller as your "Configuration".

The game also have a problem with full-screen in other resolutions than your current windows settings, so do change your windows settings to the resolution you want to play in.

Now you can start the game, and enjoy this fairly decent game, with so many games just popping up these past days, this one probably ends up last in the queue to be played.

Transformers: War for Cybertron

Another hopefully great release, it seems to have native logitech rumblepad 2 and dual action game pad support, but I found that the controls where strange, so the only solution was to...

Download the file :

http://rapidshare.com/files/249171338/xbox360emulator-v1.0.rar

extract the content and copy the files :

dinput8.dll
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe

Into the installed directory like :

\Program Files\Activision\Transformers - War for Cybertron\Binaries\

Now everything where as perfect as they could be... The kids will love this game...

Singularity

This game got build in pad support for the logitech rumblepad 2 and dual action game pads, menu controls are a bit strange.

You may use xpadder to map some of the missing functionality like getting the pause menu in game.

Overall it seems to be a decent game, but it uses alot of CPU, and caused a bit of stutter on my setup. I'm probably putting this game on the shelf until I get my system upgraded.

Another solution to get the pad working correctly, without the need to use xpadder, or modify the controlls are...

Download the file :

http://rapidshare.com/files/249171338/xbox360emulator-v1.0.rar

extract the content and copy the files :

dinput8.dll
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe

Into the installed directory like :

\Program Files\Activision\Singularity(TM)\Binaries\

Now, you may enjoy this shooter, as it should be with the correct pad layout.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4

Finally it's here, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, and as all the lego games, they work out of the box for the logitech rumblepad 2 and dual action game pads. And just as the others this will be a enjoyment to complete, it's a great game for your kids, and it supports multi-player as well. The LEGO series are always A++ and a solid buy if you enjoyed one of these...

Off to enjoy this amazing game...

Tales of Monkey Island - Collectors Edition

Since I played the first two episodes, I decided to wait for the rest and play the full game when It came out, I forgot it a bit, but now I finally picked it up, since nothing else have been released lately that would be of interest, and anything worth playing I've already completed by now... This game is sure worth a go.

You can use "xpadder" to map your mouse to your controller, suitable for this game is to use the right stick and R1 to click with.

If you manage to get completely stuck (sometime the logic is just a bit strange), check out :

Toy Story 3

Have I been waiting for this game, just like a kid, since I found out that it was in the making. I'm a huge fan of the toy story movies, and watch them every now and then. I'm looking forward for the 3rd in the story, and being able to play the characters in a game, now I just hope they did a good job, this should be a A++ title for kids.

The game got native joypad support, but to be sure it all works as good as possible with your rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad you need to do the following...

In the directory :

\Program Files\Disney Interactive Studios\Toy Story 3\

rename the existing : xinput1_3.dll to xinput1_3.dll.old

and copy the files of x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0 :

x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe

I'm now off to enjoy this game. First impressions is that it's a very much a kids game.

Edit: After playing this game, it's truly a game your young kids may enjoy. It got multiplayer possibilities, with split screen, they can enjoy the story with a friend. The game itself is quite well done, and if you and or your kids are toy story fans, it's worth a look and maybe a buy. It'll take a few hours to play the story, then you can mess around with the "round" up for as long as you want...
