Split/Second

Split/Second is a great racing game, and it will support your logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad out of the box.

Now, I'll dig deeper into the world of racing with Split/Second, to see if this game live up to the hype. And after an hour of play, I must say this game is pretty entertaining. My favorite racer is still the Burn out series, but this game is pretty awesome, with a game pad it got a real "console" gaming feeling in it.

I heard this game is not working with the xbox 360 controller. If anyone knows that is so please let us know. Yeah, again... This game does rock, but try it before you buy it...

  2. Whoever said the game supports the rumblepad out of the box was lying. My cordless rp 2 is detected but nothing works, not even navigating in the menus. Ive tried the xbox emulation too, that does not work either.

I had to use the logitech profiler to create some keystrokes and use them in the game, now THAT WORKS.

If anyone has found any other ways to get it working , plz post.

  3. Make sure you update to the latest drivers from logitech.

  4. I'm using a cord rumblepad 2, and it works without any problems. Check that you got the latest drives from logitech (5.08.146). Even the force feedback is working!

  5. I'm also using a Cordless RumblePad 2 and the game simply does not detect my gamepad.

I've also been using the logitech profiler, created some keystrokes as that other guy said and it works just fine.

But I'd also like to know how to get native support for my Cordless RumblePad 2 on this game...

btw, this game is OODLES OF FUN!!

  6. yeah the game is awesome but i dont like to navigate in menu with a keyboard and then change back to gamepad when i want to race ;/ i have the newest profiler..

  7. Use the Logitech Profiler to create a new profile and then just keep on adding keystrokes to each of the buttons of the gamepad. That's what I did and now I only use the RumblePad, both in the menus and in the game itself. The only thing still missing is rumble/vibration...

  8. So you guys have a problem only with the Cordless RumblePad 2?

I'm using a "Cord" version of the rumble pad 2, and for me it works perfectly. I don't have the profiler running, and VIBRATION works, as soon as I turn it on. I'm running Windows 7 32bit with Logitech driver version 5.8.141.0 (9/11/2009).

I also have a few friends with other logitech stuff like the steering wheel. And it also auto detect those.

  10. I guess that settles it: the problem is only with the CORDLESS version of RumblePad 2. Maybe they'll fix it in the future... Or not.

Oh well, at least the Logitech Profiler keeps saving the day for now.

  11. I think if its a known problem, Logitech might be able to solve it in their next driver update. As even for me vibration was not working properly until the last update. :) This game is a must joy pad experience... Another tips is for you guys to use xpadder to do the key/mouse to joypad mapping...

  14. After I completed this game, I went back to play Burnout Paradise, but I must say that Split/Second got a much better feeling when playing it... Burnout looks a bit old... Hey, we burnout junkies need a new release soon... Can't wait for the sequel for Split/Second. Getting that one for sure...

  15. Well, here is a FOR SURE answer on your is it corded or cordless... I have the RP2 CORDED which I have used SO MUCH my analogs are WORN right out, so I bought CORDLESS, most everything works NO PROBLEM, but Split Second does not find it. Plug in my wore out corded, and VOILA FULL Gamepad support INCLUDING the VIBRATE feature that is otherwise un-selectable. Can ANYONE verify if this is working 100% on a CORDLESS and if so, WHAT driver version?

  16. I was playing split second on Win 7 x64 with xbox 360 controller wireless no problem for quite awhile. Now I went to play it, and it won't recognize my same controller at all. My controller worked fine in game and with the menu.

  17. anyone figure out why the Logitech cordless rumblepad 2 doesn't work for menu navigation and other stuff, I wanna do more than just drive with my controller. I've made my own HTEC (Home Thearter Entertainment Center) and I wanna be able to launch gmes and navigate games without having to pull out the keyboard.

  18. The game goes coll with my Dual Action, either the menu or driving, but thats the boo when i playing with my rumblepad 2... well i am on xp anyway...
i try the profiler, but something stupid happen, as i using the button 2 for me to hit the gas (altered in the game controller option), and "keystroke enter" for choosing a section in menu...
wat happen? well, everytime i hit the gas, it juz pause the game...

  21. Its not working with logitech f710 gamepad.

    ReplyDelete
  22. It's not working with logitech f310 gamepad either. Working fine with 360 controller for windows (wired). So I'll be getting a second 360 controller to play split screen with my friend...

Another annoyance is that when the controller is connected. The game still shows PC buttons on the screen. It takes some guessing to find which corresponds to which...
