Looks like another great game, for the mature audience, square always been one of my favorite developers, this game will need the xbox 360 emulation patch in the following directory in order to work with logitech rumblepad 2 / dual action game pads.
\Program Files\SQUARE ENIX - Eidos Interactive\Just Cause 2
copy the files of x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0 :
x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe
And off you go, to a pure pad experience. I'm off playing and evaluating this game now, to see if it's going to make the top lists.

Cool. everytime a new game comes out and I think to myself, "Hm, i wonder if this supports my Rumblepad 2 at all. Gee, I will go look it up.", and near every time, I end up here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the imput, guy!
..pun intended.
Ps s- this IS a very fun game, but it's much easier with a gamepad... odd.
ReplyDeletewill play this one too,
ReplyDeletecheers
I have the 360 emu working but my right analog has the left/right up/down swapped. Anyway to fix this?
ReplyDeleteTo modify the Right up/down left/right problem, edit the "x360ce" with a text editor, notepad, whatever and change these two lines so it looks like this:
ReplyDeleteRight Analog X=3 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable
Right Analog Y=-6 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable
You can also remap all the buttons to your own taste, just look for the equivalencies, for example X=2 which means that button X on an Xbox controller is mapped to your button number 2. You can change that number to any other button number of your choice. Hope this helps.
This game is awesome, and with this great pad support it's far more enjoyable. Makes my PC hooked up to a 50 inch LCD, a far better alternative then a console. The games are just as good, the media playback is even better...
ReplyDeleteWorks perfectly. You just need to turn off your Monitor power options while playing with a Joypad or else you receive "Monitor out of range" errors after your power saving timer runs out.
ReplyDeletethanks for the help guys, works like a charm!
ReplyDeleteThanks, works super. One of the best games since batman: arkham asylum was released. Worth every cent. Recommend it to anyone who like this kind of action adventures...
ReplyDeletehow can i get rumble to work? i installed the logitech profiler and XInputTest registers both motors as functioning. thank you
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI have this strange issue, when I start Just Cause 2, I have a grenade in my hands, so I get blown up everytime, .
I didn't modify the controls, ...
Can somebody perhaps do a copy/paste of his .ini file so I can replace mine ?
Thx in advance
I found with Just Cause 2, that you need to keep 2 saves, and you cannot trust auto-save to work all the time, I got stuck, and the auto-save was corrupted. :( so had to start all again, now I learned this.
ReplyDeletetry use x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.1, it should work with the force feedback.
ReplyDeleteyou need logitech drivers :
# Software Version: 5.08
# Post Date: 09/22/2009
But saying that, I've got it working in test mode, (xinputtest.exe), but in game it's still not working.
Hey dragonlord,
ReplyDeleteThe game works fine again except the 7 and 8 buttons.......RT and LT. Pls come up with some remedy.....love the game, want to play it using the gamepad
thx
"I have this strange issue, when I start Just Cause 2, I have a grenade in my hands, so I get blown up everytime, "
ReplyDeleteI have the same issue, what can i do about that?
Do you have this issue with the x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.1 ? and if you remove it will it work fine ?
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem as cristiano, somebody know how to fix it?
ReplyDeleteHere is my files I place in the just cause 2 directory :

Hope it works, please let me know if the issues where solved.
Hi, for me the problem was solved, buttons 7 and 8 and RT LT working!. The only little problem now with that new archives is that it doesn´t vibrate now, but it doesn´t matter because now I can play the game, thanks a lot!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat!! its work perfectly!
ReplyDeleteBeen looking for something like this. Didn't know that there was an emulator for my Rumblepad 2. This is the download link for the newest one.

Thanks Dragon Lord
Could anyone please tell me how to get vibration working on this? I mapped the controls and everything is working great, apart from the vibration.
ReplyDeletein x360ce.exe i checked Force Feedback, and was able to get motor movement when testing it with x360ce.exe, however nothing happened in game. any idea?

ReplyDeletei sntalled the game with steam wat folder shod i put the emulator in ?
ReplyDeletegreat game works perfectly
ReplyDeleteSquare enix is only a publisher for this game, not a developer, though.
this make me a problem when i`m open the test
ReplyDeleteIt gives me a problem when I open the file in RAR
ReplyDeleteIve had issues with the Xinputtest.exe failing when i open it. Im running windows 7 with the newest software from logitech and the .rar file from http://www.mediafire.com/?ng4jotmw2zz, but nothing has been importing correctly.
ReplyDeletei can go manually remap keys and they will work in game, but that is definitely not how i want to get this set up.
To fix Analog stick problem replace
ReplyDelete"Right Analog X=3 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable
Right Analog Y=-6 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable" With
"Right Analog X=6 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable
Right Analog Y=-3 #axis index; use - to invert; precede with 's' for a slider eg; s-1; 7 to disable"
In "x360ce.ini". :D
Left analog and Dpad are inverted. I mean that the DPAD on the xbox controler is my analog stick on my dual controller, and the analog stick on the xbox controller is my dpad. So I've got TWO dpads on the left... Does anyone knows how to change this?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
so where is the download link ?
ReplyDeleteTriggers won't work and I'm just blowing myself up constantly :( Everything else is bueno. Anyone have any ideas?
