Darksiders

Darksiders is an excelent game, that needs a joypad to fully enjoy. You would need to install the xbox 360 joypad emulation in order to get it working with logitech Rumblepad 2 or the Dual Action Gamepad.

Download the file

http://rapidshare.com/files/343322681/xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar

and copy the files into the installed directory, :

\Program Files\Darksiders\

dinput8.dll
xbox360cemu.ini
xinput1_3.dll
xinput9_1_0.dll

I've heard a lot of good about this game, so now let's see if it lives up it.

  5. I tried the xbox emulation but the camera seems to be stuck pointing upwards to the sky. I can turn the camera around, but that is all, it keeps pointing towards the sky at all times, rendering the game unplayable.
Without the xbox emulation files the result is the same.
    Can someone please help?

  14. I had this same gamepad/controller problem at first (Vista Home Edition 32 bit + Logitech Dual Action gamepad).

Here's what fixed it for me:
    After going to http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/wiki/MainPage
1 - Using the provided link > Downloaded + installed new C++ Redistributable package (followed by a reboot).
2 - Downloaded most recent xbox360 emulator. (it's under the 'Downloads' section)
3 - Ran the emulator exe file from game install folder, then configured my gamepad. (The exe file created all the other needed files).
4 - ***VERY IMPORTANT*** > Turned OFF Logitech Game Profiler software that my gamepad "normally" needs in order to work.

After doing this, my gamepad worked perfectly and no longer rotated in circles while looking at the characters head.
(Although, it's kinda a pain to remember to shutdown the Logitech profiler software EVERY time before starting the game.)

Hope this helps some of you.
    Best of luck!

  18. how do you Turned OFF Logitech Game Profiler software?

  19. It's probably running as a small icon somewhere in the notification area, you should be able to tell which one, then just exit it.

  20. I use Xpadder, I did everything you said but uhh the RT among other things, i.e. throw, equipment use, is binded to gear. So the game pauses often, really annoying.

  21. Anyone got a good coding profile for 360 controller? I used the one up top, but the right trigger is keybound to multiple things, the most annoying of course being gear---It pauses the game to open up your inventory. If anyone knows how to alter that code so that its one of my up down right left buttons that are available please let me know.

    Thanks

  22. Got the game with steam to activate it, under which folder should i copy and paste the emu files. Should it be pasted where the darksiders exe is located?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Try to search in explorer for a folder called Darksiders, and see if you can find it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Yeah, if you see the exe file, then try to paste it there, then click on the exe to start the game.

  31. Thanks so much for this! It works perfectly. I am running Win7 32bit and Steam version of Darksiders.

For those with the Steam version follow the instructions as listed here but the game directory is found at \Steam\steamapps\common\darksiders

Mode button on the rumblepad 2 cycles through a few different button configurations. I preferred the default (light off) as it mimics the xbox controller layout and is most comfortable.

Too bad I can't get vibration to work, oh well. This is still better than the keyboard layout.

    Thanks again!

  34. Is there any way to get the D-pad to work? I'm stuck in the game at the part where you need to use the first key to unlock the gate, and the D-Pad isn't working as the 360 controller would.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Biggles you need to edit the x360ce.ini file with the following to get the d-pad to work:

    D-pad POV=1
    D-pad Up=UP
    D-pad Down=DOWN
    D-pad Left=LEFT
    D-pad Right=RIGHT

You might also have to set the FakeAPI to 1

  40. Hey guys, the xbox360cemu is working on every games I've tried with but now with a new computer with win8 x64 it doesn't seems to work with my steam version of darksiders. I have placed the files in the right folder, the xinputtest works great but when I start the game it's like if there wasn't any controller plugged in.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
