Tomb Raider

To get Tomb Raider working with your Logitech Rumblepad 2 or Dual Action Gamepad, what you need to do is to download and install the xbox 360 gamepad emulator...

Download :

http://rapidshare.com/files/343322681/xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar

or

http://xinput.googlecode.com/files/xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar

Extract the files :

dinput8.dll
xbox360cemu.ini
xinput1_3.dll
xinput9_1_0.dll
XInputTest.exe

Then copy them into the following folder :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Square Enix\Tombraider

If you have trouble locating the game there, try searching for :

TombRaider.exe

And place the files in the same directory as the executable file.

This game is one of the best games we've played for a long long time, worth every $$$, and if you are lucky enough to have a kick ass PC game rig, and can run this baby with maxed out settings, youre in for a treat... This game will be hard to top for the game of the year crown... Sadly there is no "no blood and gore" option, so keep this game out of reach for the minors, it's not rated 18+ without a reason...

  1. Hi Dragon Lord
Thanks for your discription. I have done as you discripted and i could conect the rumblepad 2 (Logitech) by running XInputTest.exe. as fare everything works.
I can start Tomb Raider until the screen with the thunderstorm and the rough sea. There i can highlite "play", "leave game" ect. but when i klick the highlited choose it wont work. I cant get in the game and i cant leave this screen - except by task manager. Without your 5 files the game work normal BUT the right joystick of the Rumble Pad not !!!
Have you an solution for that?
    Sincerely Jörg

  2. I'm running Windows 7 64bit, and it works great with the above instructions. But do make sure you don't have any of the "Logitech" game pad software running, if you still got an issue you can try to follow this post, to update the "Name" of the pad in the registry.

Hope you get it working. In worst case, try to remove the file "dinput8.dll" and see if it helps.

  3. Jörg again

I also run Win 7 64 bit. There is only the Software for the rumblepad 2 running. I think i need it, otherwise the Rumblepad 2 wont be useful in the Game when the Bottoms are out of Funktion.

Most of the Links in the Thread you adwised me are old and may be because of that out of Order so it wont help me further.
I will even try to do the Tip with the Registry. Just have safed the actuall Registry. Now i go try and pray.

Remove the file "dinput8.dll" doesent help.

    I am pretty desperated

  4. Jörg again

Have done as advised in the Thread you send me - but it dident take any Effect.
    The Path
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C218
OEMName REG_SZ Logitech RumblePad 2 USB
    is now
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C218
OEMName REG_SZ XBOX 360 Controller for Windows
but i still cant start the Game Tomb Raider. I come to the Screen with the Thunderstorm and i can highlite all Menupoints like New Game, Multiplayer, Extras, Options ect. (Maybe in English Version simmilar names. I run the German Version of Thomb Raider). When i want to click an highlited Menupoint (maybe New Game) it wont take any Effect and also Exit Game wont take any effekt. I have to close the Screen by Taskmannager via stop Prozess Tomb Raider.

Please help me then playing Tomb Raider by Keyboard is stupide.

  5. If you have the original "Logitech" software running that came with the pad, please close that, might help you. I never installed that piece of software.

  6. Hi

I have no original Software running who came with the Pad. I run only the newest Driver ( lgs510_x64.exe ) for the Pad.
So I can start Tomb Raider until the Screen with the Tunderstorm. There i can highlite all Menu Points but when i click them nothing happens. I have to close the Screen by Task Manager.

    Without the 5 Files

    dinput8.dll
    xbox360cemu.ini
    xinput1_3.dll
    xinput9_1_0.dll
    XInputTest.exe

Tomb Raider will work normal but the right Joystick of the Rumble Pad 2 is out of funktion.

  8. Hi all

    I GOT THE SOLUTION !!! ;-)
The solution who worked dident work over "xbox 360 gamepad emulator". I dont need it (I couldent get it working anyway)

    WHAT I DID:
1.: Download the newest Driver ( "in my case lgs510_x64.exe" )from the Logitech site
2.: Install the driver so you get an Ikon in the Taskbar right down.
3.: Click Ikon to start the Logitech profiler. Here you can select which nob at the Pad will do which action and here is the solution for the right joy. (I have to say that i use the german driver so some of the following names can be little different to an other language but must be simmilar). Left down in the opened Logitech Profiler are 4 lines. Watch the lower 2 Lines. The are called "Right Joy. x-Axis" and "Right Joy. y-Axis". Left click to "Right Joy. x-Axis". In the Contextmenu click "Axes Properties". In the now opened Window left down you can say which axis is on the right Joy. Select "x-Axis from Mouse".
Do analogous with "Right Joy. y-Axis".
    Safe and close.

    THATS IT !!!

Logitech Rumblepad 2 can be configured complitely normal, WITHOUT ANY EMULATIONS. I hope everyone who uses the Rumblepad 2 will now be able to play Tomb Raider and other Games with the Logitech Rumblepad 2.

    By the way:
If you have an N-vidia Card in your machine download from the N-vidia site the beta driver 314.21 and run the game maximum in the 2. highest Grafic Resolution. Since I do so Tomb Raider wont crash.

  11. hey, I did what was stated above about going into the logitech profiler but when I left click where the left two lower lines are. I can't get into axes properties. It won't let me click into as if its disabled. I downloaded the latest driver for the rumblepad 2 as I am using windows 7 64 bit. Any help would be appreciated and how i can access that menu.

    Thanks

  13. The reason to use the "emulation" software is to make it more compatible with the game, it was developed to use a xbox 360 controller. The logitech software does not provide good enough mapping to replace this emulation.

If you don't get it working, you must be doing something wrong, it works perfectly!
