Bionic Commando

Bionic Commando features a hero with a grappling hook arm used to navigate levels, to take out enemies, rappel down sheer surfaces, and more.

We'll see if this has native rumblepad support or if the xbox360 emulation will work fine, hopefully it's as good as devil may cry.

Once I managed to install the game, I could not get it working with the joypad emulation, this is a bit sad, as this game really needs to be played with a pad, so I did a config for xpadder, and this will have to do for now. I have just played it a bit, and it seems to be quite an ok game. I'll give it a 7 out of 10 so far, edit (9 out of 10 after doing some more playing and getting further into the game, I would have given it 10 if it had been fully supporting the rumblepad 2). We'll see if that changes once I get a bit more into the game.

To get it working with your rumblepad 2, you need to do the following.

http://rapidshare.com/files/249164419/xinputemu3.0.zip

Program Files/CAPCOM/Bionic Commando/Bionic Commando/

xbox360cemu.ini
xinput1_3.dll
xinput9_1_0.dll
XInputTest.exe

Then start the game, goto config controllers. bind the keys to the gamepad.

Then I use xpadder to map mouse, left/right mouse button, arrow keys, escape and enter.

This works fine, you can map all keys, except "Adrenaline".

  1. If you find a way to get the gamepad to work in this, please i need to know!!! game is pretty cool, but GAH!! playing with keyboard and mouse is shit!!! This is ONE of those games that should ONLY be played with gamepad, unfortunately the game does NOT detect my Rumplepad 2 :-(

  2. You could use the xpadder and bind the correct keys, that works for me at the moment. Untill a better solution is found.

I think it's time for an update of the program, there been a few games now where it just wont work.

  4. I cannot understand why companies can not do things with gamepads properly like Prototype. Fuck this game, I do not want to buy an xbox pad.

  5. trudl69, how did you get the game working with your rumblepad2 ?

Yeah, today all games should support the major gamepads, and I think this one is one of the best pads ever released. I'm sure it must be considered as one of the major ones. Just look at g-force it works great out of the box.

  7. I've found a chinese xinput emulator, and it's support english language too. Pretty easy setup, just extract it to your game folder i.e:"C:\Program Files\Bionic Commando\" and run the XInputEmulator.exe to configure your setting, save and exit. Voila! Your rumblepad are working as it should. Just click my name for the download link. Oh, and check with your antivirus just to be safe, i've scanned it with kaspersky 2010 and it was clean though.

  8. Yeah, I'm would not trust 100% in anything, so be careful, and use good firewalls that block program access to the internet, like zone alarm, as there is far to much spy ware installing stuff floating around. you might just end up being part of a botnet, :)
