Alice: Madness Returns seems to work just fine with Logitech Rumblepad 2 or Dual Action Gamepad.This is not to be confused with the alice in wonderland game, this is not for your kids, it's a horror story.
Off to enjoy with my Rumblepad 2.

If your controller is not detected you can try :

put the files in the same folder as the exec file. What adapter do you use with the ps2 pad?
i'm having a weird issue with Logitech rumble pad 2 while playing alice my left analog x-axis seems buggy sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't ingame alice just walk when i press up with left analog instead of running im 100 % it's not my gamepad because it works perfectly on other gamer
