To get Saints Row: The Third working the way it should you will have to do the following...
Download :
http://rapidshare.com/files/422778312/x360ce.vibmod.3.1.4.1.rar
or
http://xinput.googlecode.com/files/x360ce.vibmod.3.1.4.1.rar
Extract the files :
x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe
Into the following directory (where you find the saintsrowthethird.exe) :
\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Saints Row The Third\
If you still have problems, you might need to :
1. Find out the name of your gamepad in the control panel (Game Controllers), for me it was "Logitech RumblePad 2 USB".
2. Open Regedit, hit CTRL-F and type the name of your gamepad. It should find something like :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C218
OEMName REG_SZ Logitech RumblePad 2 USB
3. Select Modify and enter "XBOX 360 Controller for Windows" (without the ").
You may also check that the VID & PID is matching your gamepad in the x360ce.ini file.
The PID & VID should be found as above in the KEY.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C218
OEMName REG_SZ Logitech RumblePad 2 USB
VID=0x046D #controller VID
PID=0xC216 #controller PID
Now, I hope you get it working... Still I'm not sure if this game is my cup of tea...

ReplyDeleteworking...but when push forward goes back, and when i push back goes forward. All the other buttons working. Any advice?
ReplyDeletei have the exact same problem... :
Deleteme tooooooooooooo but what to do any body please can help ?
Deletesame issue everything fine except forward and backward reversed.
ReplyDeleteNot working here, even with the regedit tip. I finally made it work, but without x360ce this time :-) Just run Logitech Profiler, set a new profile for the game, invert Y left axis (properties / checkbox), and run the game from Profiler.
ReplyDeleteWhen you run it first, did you have the logitech profiler active ? if so, it might not work.
ReplyDeleteTried both methods (xc360ce and Logitech Profiler) neither of them works for me
ReplyDeleteThank You
ReplyDelete"Logitech Dual Action" controller (with NO Logitech Profiler installed) works 100%.
No need to amend regedit or any other files, just add the 3 x360ce files.
Wanna know as poster above:COD Modern Warfare 3 with Rumblepad??
ReplyDeleteIt worked for me with no edits to the registry or x360ce ini file but like others, I have an inverted Y axis. Hope someone can figure something out.
ReplyDeleteFollow this it fixes it!

Works perfect "out of the box" with the logitech dual action controller.
ReplyDeleteDid not work properly "out of the box" for me, but I got it working like it should (all buttons doing what they should) with this fix...
ReplyDeleteI don't have the folder that the three files are supposed to go into. I tried the other thing but it still didn't work. How can I fix this???
ReplyDeletetry to find the file : saintsrowthethird.exe and put the files in that directory...

"Doesnt work for me. Im using a GenericUSB controller. Fwd/Backwrds are mapped to my left and right analog =\"
ReplyDeleteSame here
Well, i figured it out. I have Vibmod 3.1.4.0 and it works in every game with vibration. I have played a lot of games just with this Emu, so you should stick with the one that works for you. I had the same problem (swapped stick directions) but i got it to work. I already made regfix,as described above, looong time ago (without the VID and PID change). That made vibration work, but for this game you have to edit the X360ce.ini file and change the begining line FakeAPI to 1. It is set to 0 on Default. Try it. It works for me, vibration and all.:) I have Logi.Rumblepad 2,by the way.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I figure out that depending on the version of my logitech drivers installed I can get vibration to work sometime. what version do you use for the pad drivers?
ReplyDeleteWell, you're probably asking me. It's driver 5.10. I havent updated in a while. I think it's 2010 driver. Works in every game that supports xbox360 controller and vibration, with vibration.:)
ReplyDeleteTried everything from the post and from the comments, still left y axis is still inverted.
ReplyDeleteAnyone got it to work on rumblepad 2?
The latest on the Logitech site is :
ReplyDeleteTitle: Logitech Gaming Software
Software Version: 5.10.127
Post Date: 08/30/2010
Platform: Windows 7
Is that the one you are using?
FOUND THE ANWSER TO THE INVERT AXIS PROBLEM!!!! YAY!!

awesome thanx a lot for hekping me out your link works like a charm.....................thank you
Deleteinvalid url?
Deleteuse the logitec profiler and invert the y axis then go to options and global profile settings then use the option to use the profile all the time
ReplyDeleteworked for me ....
cheers
Yep, that's the version i'm using. 5.10. I guess it's the latest one. I thought by now they would update it. Guess not.:)And 3.1.4.0 x360ce vibmod, because 3.1.4.1 doesn't have vibration.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, change the registry to xbox360 controller, as described above, because for me that's the thing that made vibration work in every game that supports it.:)I didn't have to write the VID&PID to x360ce.ini file. It worked anyway, but you should do that too. And for SR3 don't copy the dinput8.dll to the game directory, because it won't work properly. And change FakeAPI from 0 to 1 (FakeAPI=1). Hope it works for you too. Good luck!:)
ReplyDeletewhere the fuckkk is VID and PID? in xbox360ce.ini file????
ReplyDeleteYou get them from the controller device in windows, and put em in the x360ce.ini...
ReplyDeletethanks work like a charm!! great job man, keep on rollin!
ReplyDeleteI still can't get it to work, should the pid in the file match the regedit one? both be 218?
ReplyDeleteGod damn i got it to work! Everybody check if in x360ce.ini PID isn't 216 if it is than change it to 218... YES it worked for ME!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it can be different depending on pad, etc. so that is why you should look it up as described above. :)
ReplyDeleteyup i just changed 216 in x360ce.ini PID and it started working!!! spent hours looking around on how to fix this lol
ReplyDeletefor all u guys who are using xbox controller emulator and having inverted axis problem here is the solution

DeleteThanks in advance.
Might work, but the update iz taking years.... cant skip, it can i ? anyone ?
ReplyDeleteYES! finally got it to work. putting the new numbers for VID and PID in the x360ce.ini files did it. its a different number for every controller. heres a god video on how to get a hold of this info:
