Cars 2: The Video Game

Cars 2: The Video Game, works perfectly fine with your Logitech Rumblepad 2 or Dual Action Gamepad. But if you want to spice it up a bit you can install the xbox 360 joypad emulation... It won't change the button layout, but it will give you a more familiar way to navigate...

Download :

http://rapidshare.com/files/343322681/xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar

or

http://xinput.googlecode.com/files/xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar

Extract the files :

dinput8.dll
xbox360cemu.ini
xinput1_3.dll
xinput9_1_0.dll

and copy them into folder :

\Program Files (x86)\Disney Interactive Studios\Cars 2\

This game is mainly for the younger of us, or your kids... Take a look at it before you decide, the first looks will probably not amaze anyone, but it could be fun for the kids, especially if they got a bit of a story line in the play, and not just plain racing... Did not get that far yet.

Toy Story 3

Have I been waiting for this game, just like a kid, since I found out that it was in the making. I'm a huge fan of the toy story movies, and watch them every now and then. I'm looking forward for the 3rd in the story, and being able to play the characters in a game, now I just hope they did a good job, this should be a A++ title for kids.

The game got native joypad support, but to be sure it all works as good as possible with your rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad you need to do the following...

In the directory :

\Program Files\Disney Interactive Studios\Toy Story 3\

rename the existing : xinput1_3.dll to xinput1_3.dll.old

and copy the files of x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0 :

x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe

I'm now off to enjoy this game. First impressions is that it's a very much a kids game.

Edit: After playing this game, it's truly a game your young kids may enjoy. It got multiplayer possibilities, with split screen, they can enjoy the story with a friend. The game itself is quite well done, and if you and or your kids are toy story fans, it's worth a look and maybe a buy. It'll take a few hours to play the story, then you can mess around with the "round" up for as long as you want...

Split/Second

Split/Second is a great racing game, and it will support your logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad out of the box.

Now, I'll dig deeper into the world of racing with Split/Second, to see if this game live up to the hype. And after an hour of play, I must say this game is pretty entertaining. My favorite racer is still the Burn out series, but this game is pretty awesome, with a game pad it got a real "console" gaming feeling in it.

I heard this game is not working with the xbox 360 controller. If anyone knows that is so please let us know. Yeah, again... This game does rock, but try it before you buy it...

Alice in Wonderland

Finally a game that works out of the box using your logitech rumblepad 2 and dual action game pads. And it's not a bad game either, it's quite good, and it's a must to enjoy it with your game pads. You'll need a friend and two pads...

This will take you on the amazing journey of Alice and her friends. Enjoy it as well as the movie available in 3D, Tim Burton always been one of my favorite story tellers, ever since Nightmare Before Christmas...

Off to enjoy this game...

Update : Just completed the game, and it's a wonderful story, and It's one you can enjoy playing with your kids, as it allows for two players to help each other on the journey. If you're looking for a game for you kids, or just some light entertainment for yourself, this is a sure bet. It's a game made to be played with game pads, so you'll need two of them.

G-Force

G-Force is a fast-paced action-platform game based on the movie of the same name.

This game fully supports the rumblepad 2. Just make sure you select "Use Game Pad".

Main Menu -> Options -> Controls -> Use Game Pad (Tick).

Being developed by eurocom does help to keep the hope up for a great game.

I've been thru the first part of the game, and even if the graphics are a bit simple, but it got great game play, maybe it'll get better later into the game. So far it's a solid 7 out of 10.
