:)
Hi,i can't turn the camera around, it switch to A,B,X,Y.Got no problem with others game.Any clues?
ReplyDeletethank you
ReplyDeleteWorks without any problems for me. This is a great game by the way... Even Better with a pad, in your sofa and a 55" screen...
ReplyDeleteyeah boyyyyy....love the immersion with 3d surround sound
DeleteI would recommend to download the tool from http://code.google.com/p/x360ce/downloads/list , it has the x360ce.App which you can test the controller mappings
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the file but still can't get my logitech gamepad to work for Skyrim. Any suggestions?
ReplyDeleteDoes your pad work when running the test program?
ReplyDeleteDid you copy the files to the correct location, same directory as the above .exe?
Are you running any other programs like the logitech profiler, if so turn it off, and try again.
Excellent works a treat..thanks
ReplyDeleteis it usually for the xinput to say that contoller 1 and 2 is connected, but controller 2 is the one that is working, controller 1 does nothing and i dont have 2 controllers, only 1.
ReplyDeletethis is great, but the rumble dosent work..its normal?
ReplyDeleteyeah, if the xbox360cemu.ini is set for two controllers, and the id's for controller 2 matches your controller it could happen...
ReplyDeleteand yes, it is more common that not that rumble don't work.
ok thanks..i tried everithing and i cant make the rumble works on anny game that emmulats xbox360 pad
ReplyDeleteAccording to your guide, is it also mean that I can plug XInput gamepad (Xbox360, logitech f310, f510, f710, etc.) and use it without any set up?
ReplyDeleteIt might work better with the setup, that is for the Logitech pads. for a xbox360 gamepad, it should always work... :)
ReplyDeleteCan't get the dual action controller working after installing files into correct folder. Only controller 2 shows movement but when loading the game it wont let me select anything so cant even load save or continue
ReplyDeleteHave a look in the xbox360cemu.ini and compare the entries in the second to the first controller, maybe you can copy them to the first, then set the second as inactive. I'm playing with an Dual Action Gamepad, and I had no problem whatsoever. And make sure you don't run any gamepad profiler software.
ReplyDeleteHow do I get rumble to work with this?
ReplyDeleteusing this and it works but idk if there is a bug in the controller setting or the game, but i can seem to tell my companions to things for me, its like when i hit B after i ask them to do things for me it would close the option and not selecte it.
ReplyDeleteHow do you switch the d pad and the left analog stick on the dual action around.
ReplyDeleteThis wouldn't work properly, but, I remembered that I had the gamepad plugged into the wrong USB port. You must plug your gamepad into the same port you installed your drivers to. After that, it works flawlessly. I have a Logitech Dual Action Gamepad, and it's great! Thank you for this!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU THIS IS THE ONLY FUCKING THING THAT WORKED YES
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone getting vibration in this game ?
ReplyDeleteThanks Dragon Lord for working out how to get a logitech game pad to work with Skyrim. I followed your instructions and it works a treat!
ReplyDeleteGreat work and a Merry Chrismas 2011 to you!
Uh This doesnt work with the latest patch anymore...
ReplyDeleteAs Arimmus said above, how can I swap the D-Pad and Left Analog Stick around, so my favourites and quick select are managed with the D-Pad, and movement is done via the analog stick?
ReplyDeleteHo yeah! Thanks...
ReplyDeletebut I tried and I like the keyboard commands.
Yeah, if you like keyboard then stick with it, me myself don't have a keyboard on my game/htpc machine, and since I'm a dedicated pad user since the PS ONE... The choice is obvious... :)
ReplyDeleteI followed your instructions and they worked great! I can now use my controller in-game. I've got a problem though.. Everything seems to work fine except I continuously "look right". I can over-ride this by pressing the right stick in any direction and the camera will look there, however as soon as I stop the camera automatically circles to the right again. How/where can I reset this?
ReplyDeleteHi, to who ever couldn't get the switching between the D-pad and the left analog stick, i've reseted my cordless rumblepad 2 by replacing the battaries, closed Logitech profiler from the task manager and preesed the mode button (button that switches flight mode and normal mode on the controller) and it was switched:) Tamir.

ReplyDeleteI had a similar problem to you, but instead of looking right all the time, my point of view was always looking down. Try calibrating you Logitech game pad first, BEFORE you launch Skyrim.
To run the calibration test program for a Logitech gamepad, on a WINXP system, you can find it by, first clicking on Start and then control panel/game controllers/properties/settings/calibrate.
Hope this helps you out.
Sean
didnt work for me :/ i put all the files in the zip into the correct folder started game up and nothing. I calibrated the controller also and still nothing. Anyone know what i could do? fyi im playing skyrim on windows 7
ReplyDeletebe sure your joystick is plugged before lauching game ;)
ReplyDeleteIt works fine for me, but I make sure not to update as I heard it could cause issues. I have no problem with the game... works perfectly on my win7 64bit.
ReplyDeleteexcellent my friend! it works smooth.. there is a way to activate the z azis in normal pc game pads? i cant get the camera look around just up a down.. how do i fix this? thanks great work
ReplyDeleteSick...thank you..wished I known when I started.
ReplyDeleteHey its a great program. but i have an issue with the "A" button. it works in the game but not in the menus.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much. Works like a charm.
ReplyDeleteI honestly did not think that would work so easily. Perfect and simple.
ReplyDeleteyep it works
ReplyDeletei tried to do this how do i get the controller to work for skyrim it works for other game tho just cant get it to work with skyrim what can i do ?
ReplyDeleteafter updating the game, when i swap the default buttons for my own, the controller changes the A buttn for the Y.
ReplyDeletethat´s messefd up the game for me
I am a total novice to this sort of thing. Is there a listing that explains the setting in the xbox360cemu.ini file? There are some things I would like to work differently, but afraid to mess with it. I know I can make a copy, but I still don't feel comfortable messing with something I don't understand.
ReplyDeleteI am also a novice to Skyrim, I am a "tank" but appears I can access some magic? How would I set the ini file to access these tallents during battle?
This does not work with update 6. It worked up to update 5 for PC.
ReplyDeletePlease help?
Does this method work for generic USB Joystick ?
ReplyDeleteIs there anyone getting vibration in this game ?
ReplyDeleteI have had 2 issues with the PC Version of Skyrim, I have fixed both of them for my system. First, I had WetTrigger error when starting the game. I reinstalled the game 3 times, and found that mygames in Documents was my problem, some file in the Skyrim my games folder was causing the issue. Second, I got a F310 Logitech controller, and it would not work at all in Skyrim. It wasnt until i downloaded the 32 bit and 64 bit version of the software/drivers from logitech that it started working, then you can program your keys the way you wish to play, i have it set the same as the PS3 setup, works great.
ReplyDeletei installed this, and the my pad words great, but the keyboard seems to be disabled, so i am unable to save or quit.
ReplyDeleteSuddenly stopped working for me. I tried the patch I installed for Dues Ex Human Revolution and that also stopped working, but Assassin's Creed Brotherhood still works.
ReplyDeleteI just updated Steam - maybe that has something to do with it?
Please help if you can.
Same for me too. Skyrim worked fine on PC last night. Left my PC running updates, then in the afternoon.... Nothing. I can start the game fine, but no responses from the gamepad. Tried the restarts, reinstall, no gamepad response. I checked the gamepad using the "gamepad tester" in the config and it works. I guess it's mouse and keyboard till there's a solution.
ReplyDeleteI think I am starting to see a pattern, I was running my Logitech F310 fine up until the new update came in. Works fine in the gamepad tester and in my other games but not in Skyrim.
ReplyDeleteYeah, don't update unless you can rollback, :) I usually never update, unless there is a really good reason for it.
ReplyDeleteSame happened to me. The dual action game pad doesn't work after the steam update. :(
ReplyDeleteHey all if your having problems after the latest update, try updating to 'x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0'
ReplyDeleteYou'll need to get rid of the old files in you game directory first. But it's working for me now :)
^ Dude, you rock. I had the same problems others were reporting and 'x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0' fixed it. So glad I didn't have to deal with that Motionjoy crapware.
ReplyDeleteIt works! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteit didn´t work for me though. I don´t know what else to do...and it dpesn´t even recognize my keyboard now...
ReplyDeleteThank you person four comments up! Works for me now! Almost pulled all my hair out!
ReplyDeletesuperb, tnx!
ReplyDeletecool..thx dude
ReplyDeleteThank you, x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0 works great after you uninstall the old controller files.

Hello there,
ReplyDeleteI've been having problems with this emulator. At first it worked fine but when i installed an update (which is needed to add mods in to the game)skyrim won't recocnize my gamepad anymore.
Please anybody help!
fixed it, never mind!
ReplyDeletethank u man thats work perfectly
ReplyDeleteWorks, important to enable the controller in the game settings, otherwise it will be using only mouse and keyboard.
ReplyDeleteThis doesn't work for me.. nothing works for me -__- I'm giving up.
ReplyDeleteI'm having issues still... I got the x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0.rar and extracted it. I removed the four files that were in xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar from the Skyrim folder and replaced them with the four files in the x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0.rar, but it's not working.
ReplyDeleteOne of the files in the new .rar is different, though - it's a skyrim preferences file, the unmatched older file was xinput_9_1_0.dll ...
I've unplugged the gamepad and gotten into the game settings to verify 360 Controller is on, and it is. Game options show A, B, etc. and not keyboard controls, but it still won't respond to my gamepad at all.
Suggestions?
Ok, for anyone who tried the x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0.rar files and it didn't help, there is a x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.1.rar as well - I removed the four files that came with the initial xbox360cemu.v.3.0.rar from the Skyrim directory, and replaced them with the 2 files in the newer .rar file - you'll get a Windows chime when you start up the game if it worked.

I hope that helps others!
OK, well, that didn't quite do it. My gamepad works with the game, but somehow the firing of buttons isn't right. I can access menus in and out of game, but I can't attack, cast, or jump. :(
DeleteWorks like a charm for me, thank you Spike Dog ^^
DeleteThx Spike Dog it really works!!
DeleteWill this program work with ANY logitech gamepad , cause they nolonger make the rumblepad2...???
ReplyDeleteI cant get to move the cameras!!!Please Help
ReplyDeleteUse also need to use the x360ce.exe application program to configure the gamepad for xbox emulation. I use an old wingman cordless rumble pad and it works fine.
ReplyDeleteUse [record] option to setup and detect which button I want for each assigned button on my game controller. For camera movement my controller uses right analogue stick for L&R camera movement. For U&D camera when I assign the U&D right analgue stick it is detected as the throttle button.
i never comment on stuff like this but you did a great job! simple to do, throw it in skyrim folder and it works instantly!
ReplyDeletethe files from spikedog made my very old dual action gamepad work perfectly :) Thanks for that, i almost shelved out for a new xbox controller.
ReplyDeleteThe links are broken. Or am I doing something wrong?
