Finally Mafia II is available for the PC, and it works great with your logitech rumblepad2 or dual action game pad, if you install this xbox 360 controller emulation in the following directory :\Program Files\2K Games\Mafia II\pc\
Download the files from :
http://rapidshare.com/files/413975339/x360ce_vibmod_3.1.4.0.rar
Extract and copy the following to the folder...
x360ce.ini
xinput1_3.dll
XInputTest.exe
Now you can enjoy this game as it should be, with a great joy pad. I'm still stuck on playing the awesome Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, so this will have to wait until I've completed it... A quick look says that this game do look good, worth waiting for.
If you got a problem with the game being slow using vibmod 3.1.4.0 you should give the good old v3.0 a go :

unpack, and copy the files to the installed folder :

And it should work just fine...

ReplyDeletenot so good for me. for a reason i can't fathom the game starts with abysmally low frame-rate. it fluctuates between 5~20 and you can barely play the game straight

ReplyDeleteI have a same problem. The Rumbel is working with M2 but the frame rate limited in 15fps when tha Physx off! If I delete the 3 files from the PC folder the geme run 60fps. What is the problem?

I tried this several times, still dosnt recognise my gamepad in the game. The 'use controller' option dosnt even show up in the options. Is there a way round this?
ReplyDeleteSlightly off topic but games it does work on like splinter cell conviction, the right analogue stick dosnt work properly (right is up,left is down etc etc...) is there a fix for this?
Won't work for me either and i also get the slow frame effect like u guys but i digg a little more and worked perfectly with this files from version 3.0 hack, try it, im running windows 7 32 bit for the matter. .

2 questions: Why is the accelerate adjusted to a button, while in a car? No point of analog control, if i use a button to accelerate (=Digital)
2nd: No vibration.
I just bought the gamepad, haven't tested fully yet, but no vibration in this game (NOR in assassin's creed 1)
Win7 x64 ultimate..
Anyone?

ReplyDeleteI used to get 50-55 fps, now it drops down to 25. And while I even verify the integrity of file cache and delete the files but still the same. It ruined my game thanks.
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible to have any effect on your game, if you remove the files from the directory. I had similar problem, I just removed the files from 3.1.4.0 and put the 3.0 files in there, and it run fine. You must have some other settings that changed.

I had mafia 2 installed and it worked great with my rumblepad until i updated it and installed all the DLC now what do i do it doesn't work unless i install vibmod but in which case everything get's slow down!! any help

The DLC I got is Jimmys Vendetta, and Joes Adventures, And the Update is (Update 2).
First I Install Mafia 2, then I do the Update 2, then I Install Jimmys Vendetta, then Joes Adventure.
I did not bother to get later updates, as they are not needed to install these two DLC's.
To Continue, I After I did the above install :

I then run mafia2.exe, and it works perfectly with the gamepad. So far I've only played the game, and jimmys vendeta. But I can confirm that it works great this way.
I then went ahead to try and update using Update 4, and it also works great. (Win7 64Bit).
