At first I could not even get the game going on my machine, but after some digging around I got it going... now not every action is possible using the gamepad. Hopefully there will be updates to get it all working as it should with the proper icons show for actions... This game deserves good gamepad support on the PC!!!

PC HD Games

After a few years of HD games on the "PC", compared to the life on the consoles, I must say I do enjoy my PC more... And why that is, simply because the lifespan of consoles are too long, today you get a far out PC that you can do a bit more with between the game sessions... And for the price that is pretty equal to a PS3 / XBOX 360. And what more is that there is just enough quality games getting released for you to actually be able to enjoy and play not to get bored of it. Sure the consoles might have a few exclusive titles, and they might be very well done. But PC has got a huge market, and it's growing fast, so I see no point why 3rd party companies should continue to do exclusive titles for just one brand. The further we walk into the future, the more these consoles will become more and more like just another PC, and then what is the point... You might just stick with your PC, and keep upgrading it every now and then. I'm sure we're already at the point where the next-gen consoles (PS4 / XBX 720), can't beet the today's PC's. The wii2 then might be a whole different story, Nintendo always liked to surprise the gamers with quality features not always available from competitors.

Let's enjoy a great coming game season... Thanks to the great rumblepad 2...

I found no good way to get Brink working with the Logitech Rumblepad 2 or Dual Action Gamepads.

I'm not a big fan of playing with mouse and keyboard, so I'll keep trying to find a solution. The game itself may attract those who like this type of game. I myself is not that much for playing this kind of game, so you better give it a go before you thinking of buying it, some magazines only game it 6.0, and that is probably where I would rate it.

Then you need to tick the "Joystick" option to enable the controller. Do so by going to :

My R.U.S.E. -> My OPTIONS -> scroll until you see the option Joystick, and tick it.

And it should all work fine, now, I'm currently still way into mafia ii, so I'll just give this a quick test, and save it for a rainy day, I'm not a real strategy game fan.

This game got built in game pad support of some sort, but it is very poorly done, I really don't enjoy this kind of built in support for average game pads, that works 80% of the functionality, you can do better using xpadder mapping the game keys as shown below, and installing the xbox 360 emulation, but edit the .ini file and dissable all pads, to make sure xpadder and built in cotroller support don't conflict, now you can get a decent game experience.

But big thumbs down for not going all the way with adding logitech full game pad support guys, or following the xbox 360 controller to 100%.

I would expect a better job from team 17.

While this is a bit off topic, it's a big news for those longing for "homebrew" and alternative stuff on their PS3, and at the moment this might only do backups of games you already own, to be played directly from the HD, at speeds far beyond what the BD player pushes out, one feature that I like. However this is the first generation of this USB dongle and I'm sure that if this works it's only the beginning of what you will see in terms of hacking the PS3.

Starcraft II, is the kind of game you play with mouse and keyboard, so there is no joypad support whatsoever, your only chance is to use xpadder to map the arrow keys and mouse if you want to play it logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action gamepad style.

This is still a very good game, and it can be enjoyed well with a pad in single player casual mode, since the seconds you loose by using a pad rather than a mouse can be neglected for the convenience of using a pad.

I'm so far more than a few hours into the game, and I must say this is one of the great titles released this year. If you like this kind of games, this is a must play...

Prince of Persia: The forgotten Sands

Now when I get my hands on this game, I must say I liked the first Prince of Persia, even if it did lack of HD resolution at the time, so hopefully this is going to be competing for the top games released this year. In order to get Sniper: Ghost Warrior to work with the logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action game pads, you'll need to get a copy of x360ce vibmod 3.1.4.0, and put the following files :

You'll need to create a profile, and in "Options" -> "Controls" you need to set the Xbox 360 Controller as your "Configuration".

The game also have a problem with full-screen in other resolutions than your current windows settings, so do change your windows settings to the resolution you want to play in.

Now you can start the game, and enjoy this fairly decent game, with so many games just popping up these past days, this one probably ends up last in the queue to be played.

This game got build in pad support for the logitech rumblepad 2 and dual action game pads, menu controls are a bit strange.

You may use xpadder to map some of the missing functionality like getting the pause menu in game.

Overall it seems to be a decent game, but it uses alot of CPU, and caused a bit of stutter on my setup. I'm probably putting this game on the shelf until I get my system upgraded.

Another solution to get the pad working correctly, without the need to use xpadder, or modify the controlls are...

Since I played the first two episodes, I decided to wait for the rest and play the full game when It came out, I forgot it a bit, but now I finally picked it up, since nothing else have been released lately that would be of interest, and anything worth playing I've already completed by now... This game is sure worth a go.

Toy Story 3

Have I been waiting for this game, just like a kid, since I found out that it was in the making. I'm a huge fan of the toy story movies, and watch them every now and then. I'm looking forward for the 3rd in the story, and being able to play the characters in a game, now I just hope they did a good job, this should be a A++ title for kids.

The game got native joypad support, but to be sure it all works as good as possible with your rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad you need to do the following...

In the directory :

It'll take a few hours to play the story, then you can mess around with the "round" up for as long as you want...

Now, after completing "Split Second", I'm ready to take on this racer. To see if it got what it takes to make it to the top... so far it looks pretty good.

Edit: after playing it for a while, it just don't feels like this game is going to make the top list. It's not my kind of racing... I'm more into the "Split Second" kind of racing type... So do try this for a while before you buy it, so you wont be dissappointed... I'm going to give this a few more hours to see if it'll get any better down the line... But the "power-ups" make this game feel more like a "kids" game than anything else...

Shrek Forever After

This game do have joy pad support, but you will have to turn it on by choosing controller, then choose Assign, and press a button on the controller, do this for each of the players.

Now let's see if the game itself is worth while, from the first looks it appears more to be a game from a few years ago. But after playing it the bad first impressions fade away, and the game is actually quite good. The multi-player feature makes it truly enjoyable.

But do try it for a while before you buy it.

Edit: after completing this game, I must say it's quite good. Reminds me a bit of shrek 2 for PS2. It's mostly fun with at least 2 players at the same time, and this is a very kid friendly game. It's a must for any game loving shrek fan.

Split/Second

Split/Second is a great racing game, and it will support your logitech rumblepad 2 or dual action game pad out of the box.

Now, I'll dig deeper into the world of racing with Split/Second, to see if this game live up to the hype. And after an hour of play, I must say this game is pretty entertaining. My favorite racer is still the Burn out series, but this game is pretty awesome, with a game pad it got a real "console" gaming feeling in it.

I heard this game is not working with the xbox 360 controller. If anyone knows that is so please let us know. Yeah, again... This game does rock, but try it before you buy it...

This game is available for the PC, not just the PS3 or XBOX 360. It's a fairly good beatem up side scroller platform game. After just completing Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction, this game is a bit of a nice change. Despite it's designed for pads in general, you still need to copy the files into the installed directory to get the best experience.

This is an adventure game, point and click, xpadder will do the trick for you as there is no native pad support. with xpadder you can map your mouse to your game pad, it works great with the Logitech Rumblepad 2, and Dual Action Game Pad.

This is quite a good game, it's a bit trick so a Walkthrough is a great help, I got stuck a few times, and it managed to keep my interest with some of the tricky bits to solve.

It'll be fun to see if this game can compete with the entertainment of Just Cause II from Square. This is rated "M" for a mature teen audience, Now let's find out how to get playing with a pad, this game will need the xbox 360 emulation patch in the following directory in order to work with logitech rumblepad 2 / dual action game pads.

Edit: note one big pain with Ubisoft's DRM protection, is that you need a constant internet connection, and this caused a bit of a problem for me, when my internet was down, and you just want to play. I'm not a big fan of this "online" solution, as many of people I know, don't have a internet connection. Suddenly they need one just to play games? It makes no sense. I do hope they find a better solution, don't think everyone are constantly connected, and online when and where they play games. It's a bit sad, I hear from many people that stay away from buying any software / games, that require being online. One of their arguments is that what if I play these games a few years from now, when for example the game provider exists no longer? Are the servers still there?

Since I've always been a big fan of the series, watched them all since I heard about the first season. I'll probably enjoy this game more than the average gamer would do.

This game is without gamepad support, so you have to use xpadder if you want to game with your pad. I did configure mine, and was able to play the game all to the end without any problems, just map the important keys, and off you go...

Being a past fan of Command & Conquer, I enjoyed the game, as well as some newcomers to this game might do. For multiplayer battle I asume keyboard / mouse might be the better option, as joypad do slow down the reaction time for this kind of game.

But if your not into these type of games, you might just leave this one alone, it's not your typical console game experience. It's fun while it lasts, takes around 2 days of playing to complete all the missions, after that it's not really interesting anymore, for single-players.

Just Cause 2

This will take you on the amazing journey of Alice and her friends. Enjoy it as well as the movie available in 3D, Tim Burton always been one of my favorite story tellers, ever since Nightmare Before Christmas...

Update : Just completed the game, and it's a wonderful story, and It's one you can enjoy playing with your kids, as it allows for two players to help each other on the journey. If you're looking for a game for you kids, or just some light entertainment for yourself, this is a sure bet. It's a game made to be played with game pads, so you'll need two of them.
